Drawing Monotony Series

It's Getting Hot in the Mountains

During the time that these were completed, I was travelling a lot between Tucson, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia, and was contemplating moving back to DC. I had little inspiration to create work, but also felt the desire to confess the monotony of my life.

The drawing monotony series contains 4 mains groups of drawings: daily, food, travel and environmental.

Although the environmental drawings do not reflect monotony, they began the series, and, like the others, were born out of a frustration and lack of inspiration. Although little thought went into the content of these drawings at the start, they do take on interesting themes, and many are, at times, quite personal.

Artidae Rents Studio Space at the Honfleur Gallery
Starting February 1st, Artidae is setting up shop at the new Honfleur Gallery in Anacostia. I will be renting a 12 x 12 foot studio space in the upstairs of the gallery.
